An open letter to 3D movie makers

| January 22, 2011 | 2 Comments

Dear 3D Movie Makers:

I have a toddler. While I can appreciate the sometimes amazing (sometimes not) effects of a 3D movie, my two year old cannot. Not only that, there’s no way that I’m getting her to wear those 3D glasses for an entire ninety minute movie.

I know that 3D is big, the current trend, but enough is enough. Can’t we just have a couple of animated movies sans 3D? If you can’t do it for us, at least do it for the kids.

The little kids.

Love,

Jackie

we saw “toy story 3″ in plain old 2d, and that didn’t stop me from bawling like a little girl. my daughter likes the movies fine regardless – she doesn’t care if they’re in 3d, or if they even have special effects (her favorite movie from all of last year was … “secretariat”).

i am not a huge fan of 3d movies. the glasses never fit over my real glasses, and i don’t believe for one second that those plastic-wrapped goggles are actually new every time. GERMS, ew.
